Sydney quickly fills with people from all over the country, and making a reservation at a hotel with a central location can become a difficult task. Having that in mind, we gathered the most important information to make that process more convenient for you. We’re going to give you a quick preview of the accommodation options we have at the Harbour Rocks Hotel, and then we’re going to fill you in all the details concerning the Bastille Festival.

The Harbour Rocks Hotel is located in the heart of Sydney in the Rocks area, close to all major attractions and within walking distance of Circular Quay, which is where the festival is taking place. If you choose to stay at the Harbour Rocks, you can even drink a cup of coffee and try out the crepes in our own French Creperie Suzette.

You can choose from multiple accommodation options, depending on the size of your party. If you’re travelling with friends and family, you can take a look at the studio suite, where we feature a king-size bed or two single beds with an en-suite bathroom. On the other hand, if you want to indulge in more luxurious accommodation, we can vouch for the Harbour View suite. If you want private, front row views on the festival, this is your best option. Besides, you can drink coffee in the morning while looking at the magnificent Sydney Opera House.

Of course, we also feature luxurious and comfortable rooms where you can rest after a day filled with fine wines and traditional cabaret. Our Heritage rooms come in three sizes: regular, superior and deluxe. We have something for everyone’s taste!

Everything You Need to Know About the Celebration of the Bastille Festival Sydney

Let’s brief you in on the Bastille Festival  Sydney, where you’ll be transported to a Parisian party while staying in town.

The first Bastille Festival was born in 2013, as a spectacular way to celebrate the French National Day “Bastille Day” with the people of Australia. The main themes are the best parts of France: food, wine and art! During the last couple of years, the festival morphed into one of the most anticipated events in Sydney, with people coming from all over to enjoy the best France has to offer.

Bastille Day Festival – Food and Entertainment

During the Bastille Day Festival, you can expect food villages, wine bars, beer gardens, street performances, movie screenings and a cabaret show. They are all painted in French colours – the “Bleu Blanc Rouge.” The location of the festival is the iconic Circular Quay and the Rocks area, with important landmarks like the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and the Museum of Contemporary Arts Sydney nearby. That means that you can enjoy Australian views while drinking French wine.

There are over 70 stalls each year – think baguettes, fromage, truffles, flammkuchen, choucroute (sauerkraut) and foie gras as dainty delicates. That’s not all, as while strolling the streets you will find eclairs, crêpes and chocolate that have a mouth-watering taste, enchanting smell and look like little gifts of flavour.
